On April 9, JCET Group (600584.SH) released its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, highlighting progress in embedding sustainability into the company’s strategy, governance, and daily operations.
Green manufacturing
In 2025, JCET scaled green manufacturing from standalone projects to a company-wide, system-driven program. The company expanded the use of clean energy, strengthened energy management, and improved end-to-end oversight of water and waste to boost resource efficiency and operational resilience.
The report notes that JCET continued to invest in energy efficiency and carbon reduction through initiatives such as distributed solar photovoltaic (PV) projects and equipment upgrades. Using 2022 as the baseline within the company’s operational boundary, JCET reduced carbon emissions intensity by 18% in 2025. During the year, PV power stations at the Suqian site and the Korea site were completed and began supplying renewable electricity for production. The company also continued to roll out distributed solar projects and green electricity across manufacturing sites in Jiangyin, Suqian, Chuzhou, Singapore, and Korea.
Innovation powered by digital and AI
JCET is accelerating its shift toward smart manufacturing by combining digital capabilities with AI. The company is building a unified digital foundation that brings efficiency, quality, and end-to-end traceability onto one platform. It is also expanding AI use in process monitoring, quality analytics, and defect detection, making data-driven improvement part of routine operations.
In 2025, Sandisk Semiconductor (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., a majority-owned subsidiary of JCET, was selected for the national Excellence-level Smart Factory list for its AI-enabled semiconductor packaging and testing smart factory. In addition, three JCET sites were recognized on the Jiangsu Province Advanced-level Smart Factory list.
Responsibility in action
The report also highlights how JCET is evolving its community engagement from one-off activities to long-term programs. Under the theme “Protecting the Beautiful Yangtze,” JCET supported biodiversity conservation in the Yangtze River through initiatives such as the release of endangered fish and efforts to encourage sustained public participation and coordinated philanthropic resources.
JCET also contributes to rural revitalization through programs such as “Lighting Up Mountain Villages.” In 2025, a JCET-supported project in Chongqing installed 180 solar streetlights to improve nighttime safety and extend the company’s community impact to more areas.
Building an ecosystem for shared success
As advanced packaging and back-end manufacturing continue to evolve, collaboration across the value chain is increasingly important. JCET is advancing platform-based collaboration through open mechanisms that support dialogue on industry trends and critical technologies, while helping turn exchange into structured, joint innovation.
In 2025, JCET hosted the 23rd China Semiconductor Packaging and Testing Technology and Market Annual Conference in Beijing. The company also hosted the Advanced Packaging Developer Conference (APDC) in Singapore, strengthening alignment among partners across the global advanced packaging ecosystem.
Mr. Li Zheng, CEO of JCET, said: “Sustainability is now a core part of how we operate and how we create value. Chips power the intelligent world, and they should be made in ways that are intelligent, reliable, and responsible. We will continue to strengthen sustainability governance, invest in operational resilience and green competitiveness, and work with partners to build long-term, trusted growth for all stakeholders.”
